HR Advisor

The Role and Opportunity

Reporting to the Partner / President, we are looking for an HR Advisor to assist with people and culture activities and programs of Nightingale Electrical Ltd. You will participate in weekly and monthly scheduled meetings with shareholders, senior and middle management as well as your own team to discuss business and people goals.

This role is a perfect opportunity for someone who has experience as an HR Generalist or HR Advisor / Business Partner, and is looking to grow in their career and soon be an HR Manager. Initially, you will be involved in learning the role and supporting Managers and Field Staff in addition to mentoring the HR Coordinator, with the objective to develop this role into an HR Manager.

Advise, Lead, and Deliver on various daily HR tasks including but not limited to:

  • Employee Relations
  • Recruitment & Selection, including achieving labour objectives
  • Onboarding, Offboarding, and Terminations
  • System updates / maintenance
  • Health & Safety, in conjunction with Safety Officer
  • Compensation review & analysis
  • Performance Evaluations for field & office staff
  • Various additional ad-hoc duties with support of HR Coordinator

Project work includes but not limited to:

  • Revamping and Improving Performance Management System
  • Employer Branding: Making Nightingale Electrical the choice for employment
  • Systems Improvement & Streamline process’s
  • Total Rewards Review, including benefits & compensation
  • Employee Engagement Initiatives
  • Change Management

We are looking for:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources and / or working towards or achieved CPHR
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a Generalist capacity
  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships with Employees & Management
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, and deliver timely results
  • Positive and professional team attitude, with strong coaching abilities and a growth mindset
  • Strong proficiency in Google Docs or MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
