Receptionist / Office Administrator

Location:                  Richmond, BC

Hours/Week:            40, Monday – Friday, 8AM – 430PM

Job Status:               Full Time

The Role:


Nightingale Electrical is looking for a motivated Office Administrator to join the team. The majority of this role includes answering and directing phone calls and performing administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will be computer proficient and have great people and phone skills. Being relatively easy-going with a great sense of humour is a plus.

Nightingale Electrical is a local, large-sized electrical contracting company. We employ upwards of 200 electricians and 20 office staff, and we are steadily growing. We have been in the business for 34 years, and pride ourselves on our company reputation for delivering reliable, quality work.

Some of our most recognized jobs include the Shangri-La hotel in downtown Vancouver, the Aldergrove Recreation Centre and the Pacific Autism Facility. Chances are you’ve seen many of our residential high-rise buildings, and maybe even live in one of them! Our projects include River Green Residences near the Oval in Richmond, River District Town Centre and many more.


Main Duties:


  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Greet all visitors in a friendly manner; notify appropriate person of the guest’s arrival
  • Receive and digitally file injury reports; attend health and safety meetings
  • Fill out and submit online Form 7s to WorkSafe BC as required
  • Maintain toolbox talks from foremen
  • Arrange courier or truck pickups and deliveries
  • Order office supplies as required/requested by staff
  • Process permit requests for project managers
  • Request electrical inspections from the appropriate municipality when asked by foremen
  • Maintain and update several logs- job site info log, deliveries log, P.O. books log
  • Organize and prepare maintenance manuals for project managers, when requested
  • Type up and print panel directories for foremen, when requested
  • Attend social club meetings and help plan and organize company events
  • Create an online monthly newsletter for all employees
  • Oversee the general cleanliness of the office kitchen (unload the dishwasher in the mornings and run the dishwasher at the end of the day)
  • Various other administrative tasks


You Are/Have:


  • 2 + years of office experience
  • Personable and friendly; professional phone etiquette
  • High attention to detail, and ability to focus and complete work in a timely manner
  • Extremely organized
  • Computer proficient – Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Solid work ethic, responsible, trustworthy, and punctual
  • Flexible and willing to help others with miscellaneous tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, including a sense of humour!
